Project Manager for our Climate Positive Organisation Project

As a project manager, you will work on our Climate Positive Organisation (CPO) project which is a key component of our BUas-wide Climate & Sustainability strategic theme. By focusing on sustainability, we are shaping and leading the organisation at every level. Through inspiring narratives and creating meaningful experiences, we foster a shared sense of purpose and ownership around this climate positive theme, empowering the BUas community to actively contribute to addressing climate and other sustainability-related challenges and caring for a safe, just and thriving planet for all.
You will be responsible for creating and executing an action plan for 2025, with associated budget planning, consisting of several projects, based on the CPO strategy. You will align and coordinate the action plan with the multi-year maintenance plan (‘MJOP’ in Dutch) together with the CW&S team. Other tasks and responsibilities include:
- Coordinating the gathering of relevant (carbon emissions) data across different departments and helping to formulate a system for regular monitoring and reporting going forward;
- Developing and executing a communications plan;
- Coordinating/aligning preparation of subsidies applications, as appropriate;
- Investigating opportunities for further funding subsidies;
- Investigating possible collaborations with external parties to mutually strengthen projects;
- (Initiating and) supervising student projects.
What do we offer?
- The salary for this position amounts to a monthly minimum of €4,535.76 and a monthly maximum of €6,359.47 (gross amounts based on full-time employment);
- This position is classified in scale 11 of the cao-hbo (collective labour agreement). Your official job title will be Project leader;
- We start with a project employment until 31-12-2025, with the possibility of extension subject to organisational developments;
- Your commuting expenses will be fully reimbursed when you travel by public transport;
- You will receive a contribution towards your health insurance costs;
- You will receive an end-of-year bonus of 8.3% in December and an annual holiday allowance of 8% in May;
- You will also be awarded professional development hours every year and almost 11 weeks of holiday entitlements in a full-time position;
- You have the option to work partly from home, which can help improve your work-life balance;

- You have knowledge of and experience in project management;
- You have strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail;
- You have comprehensive knowledge on and an affinity for a wide range of sustainability-related topics;
- You have a positive and proactive attitude, with a team-oriented mindset;
- You communicate easily and can convince people across the organisation;
- You work systematically and are results-oriented without losing sight of the wishes of your stakeholders and organisational needs. This also requires flexibility;
- Because we are an international educational institution, good English language skills are required in addition to Dutch.
