Next Tourism Generation
The Next Tourism Generation (NTG) project aims to address the future skills needs of the tourism industry by providing innovative and relevant products, processes, and tools. These initiatives seek to improve the relationship between the industry and education providers, thereby helping to bridge current and future skills gaps.
What was the goal of this project?
The goal of the NTG project was to build and implement a structural and permanent mechanism to bridge (and minimize) current and future skills gaps in the tourism sector. By fostering better collaboration between the industry and educational institutions, the project aimed to ensure that the workforce is equipped with the necessary skills to meet emerging demands.
What method was employed?
The NTG project employed a variety of methods to achieve its goals. This included the development of innovative products, processes, and tools designed to enhance the collaboration between industry and education providers. The project focused on identifying the specific skills needed for the future of tourism and creating educational programs and training initiatives to address these needs.
What findings did we uncover?
The NTG project found that a more robust and structured collaboration between the tourism industry and education providers is essential for addressing skills gaps. By developing innovative tools and processes, the project successfully created mechanisms that can adapt to evolving skills requirements. This approach not only helps in meeting current demands but also prepares the industry for future challenges. The project's initiatives have shown promise in establishing a sustainable framework for continuous skills development.
