PANTOUR
PANTOUR (Pact for Next Tourism Generation Skills) is an initiative aimed at advancing innovation and developing skills within the tourism sector. As a successor to the Next Tourism Generation Skills (NTG) Alliance, PANTOUR builds on existing knowledge to address the evolving needs of the sector.
What was the goal of this research?
The goal of PANTOUR is to enhance skills development in tourism through the creation of new tools and methodologies. The project focuses on strengthening partnerships and promoting sustainable and strategic approaches to skills development across Europe’s tourism industry.
What method was employed?
To achieve its goals, PANTOUR uses a multi-faceted approach that includes the development of new tools and resources, such as the Sectoral Skills Intelligence Monitor and the Tourism Skills Lab. The project also involves creating Resource Books for Trainers and implementing National Skills Groups to address specific regional needs. Additionally, a Skills Strategy Plan for 2026-2036 will guide long-term skills development.
What findings did we uncover?
PANTOUR aims to provide innovative solutions to meet the skills needs within the tourism sector. The project is expected to benefit over 10 million people working in the European tourism industry, including job seekers, employed workers, and employers. It focuses on enhancing skills related to digital, green, and social aspects to support the sector’s future growth and innovation.

Who are our main collaborating partners?
The consortium is a multi-disciplinary partnership which comprises 13 European partners: Industry Partners and Tourism Sector Representatives, Universities and Transnational partners. Project lead is CEHAT (Spain). The other partners are GESTLABOR (Spain), Turismo de Portugal (Portugal), Zangador Research Institute (Bulgaria), Technological University Dublin (Ireland), Federturismo Confindustria (Italy), VIMOSZ (Hungary), European Tourism Association ETOA (Transnational), Satakunta University of Applied Sciences (Finland), Ruraltour (Transnational), Landurlaub (Germany), University of the Aegan (Greece).
