Roland Kleve announces his departure
With effect from May 2024 Roland Kleve will be stepping down as director of the Academy for Leisure & Events. He will be appointed as the new Managing Director of Eindhoven Marketing. This organisation works on behalf of the Municipality of Eindhoven on the branding and marketing of the city of Eindhoven. Eindhoven365 is the brand management and marketing organisation. Eindhoven247 is responsible for large-scale events in Eindhoven and the acquisition of international sport events.

Roland explains, ’It is a unique and one-time opportunity in what I can do for my own Eindhoven region. Still, it is one of the most difficult steps in my career, because of what I will leave behind. What an educational and wonderful time I have had over the past five years. A unique academy, with unique colleagues, heavily passionate about education as well as research in combination with leisure and events. And a great BUas institute where our lecturers and current and new generation of students make a difference, through consistent close engagement with the industry.’
BUas greatly regrets Roland’s departure but understands and respects his motivation. BUas President Jorrit Snijder says, ’Roland is a very engaged and committed academy director, always positive, connecting the BUas strategy to his academy and vice versa. He brought a strong leisure and events industry network to BUas. As an active BUas+ ambassador he was the initiator of the BUas Sport&Play Fest and the BUas Lighthouse community space. We are going to miss him, and we thank him for everything he has realised for BUas.’
Roland has been working for BUas as an academy director for almost five years by the time he will be leaving as academy director. Before his current role he held management roles at several companies such as Stage Entertainment, Disneyland Paris and the racetrack in Zandvoort.
