For applying for a master’s programme I need to submit detailed information about the subjects/modules I attended in the period 2009 - 2013. I cannot find it online. Where can I find it?

Information about subjects/modules delivered in the past cannot be found online. We would advise you to send an email to the secretarial office of the academy you were a student of. They may ask the relevant lecturers whether this information is still available.

During my bachelor’s programme of Tourism (2009 - 2013) I did an exchange and a work placement abroad. However, this is stated neither on my degree certificate nor diploma supplement. Can I get a certificate of where and when I did my exchange and work placement?

Information about the name of the university you were an exchange student at and placement period are stated neither on your degree certificate nor diploma supplement. If you did an exchange after 1 September 2019, the information can be requested online by sending an email to [email protected]. If you did an exchange before 2020, we regret to say that we cannot provide you with a separate document confirming you did an exchange programme. The credits earned for your work placement are stated on your list of marks, but it does not say when and where you did it. Unfortunately, we cannot provide you with a separate document for that purpose.

I want to have the degree certificate and list of marks I obtained at BUas certified (or have a certified copy of them).

Dutch alumni who want to have a certified copy of their certificate must request this through the Dutch website Diplomaregister (Mijn Diploma’s).

Dutch alumni who will start a study abroad and international alumni can obtain a certificate copy from the secretarial of their department.

Scan your degree certificate and list of marks and send them by email to the secretarial office of your department. The secretarial staff will print out the documents, check them against the information in the system and certify them (stamp and signature). Please state in your email whether you wish to receive the documents as ‘hard copies’ or by email. If you want us to send them by post, please do not forget to state your postal address in the email.

I have lost my degree certificate and list of marks issued in 1997; where can I request a new one?

A degree certificate is only awarded once. If you have lost it, you cannot request a new one. If you obtained your degree certificate after 1996, you can request an official extract from DUO.: https://duo.nl/particulier/uittreksel-diplomagegevens-downloaden.jsp  (Dutch), https://duo.nl/particulier/extract-of-your-diploma.jsp  (English).

If you obtained your degree certificate before 1996, you can request a copy of the degree certificate from the secretaries of your former degree programme.

Is the Associate Degree programme ‘Kort HBO certificate obtained in 2000 an accredited study programme?

By successfully completing the Associate Degree programme ‘Kort HBO toeristisch en recreatief onderwijs’, you obtained a recognised degree certificate. The accreditation system was not in place in 2000; it was only introduced in 2002 (before 2002, it was called ‘external assessment’).

In 2010, I obtained the Associate Degree FBTR at NHTV (as it was formerly known). In 2009, I also passed my propaedeutic year. However, when I look on the CROHO website, it says that there is no propaedeutic examination in this degree programme.

Consult ‘historisch/toekomstig zoeken’ via the CROHO-register in DUO

Is it also possible to receive the diploma supplement in Dutch? I only received it in English when I obtained my degree certificate.

The diploma supplement is an international document and is only available in English.

Is it possible to receive a transcript of records (both in English and Dutch) of the modules I attended during my studies?

Can BUas post a copy of my degree certificate and list of marks to the university which I am going to attend a master’s programme at?

Please email a copy of your degree certificate and list of marks to the secretarial office of your department and ask them if they want to put a signature and stamp on them and send it to the university where you wish to enrol on a master’s programme because it is the secretaries of your department who make sure documents are certified.

Offering guest lectures, placement positions and graduation assignments

I’d like to tell students about my job/experience in a guest lecture. Who should I contact?

If you are still in touch with a lecturer, that is of course a good contact. However, if you should not remember his/her name anymore, do not hesitate to send an email to the alumni coordinator of your department. He/She will then go and seek the right person within the department.

Alumni community

I would like to join the Alumni community. How?

There are several ways to stay in touch with BUas/NHTV.

  • You wish to stay tuned about what’s happening at your alma mater and receive invitations for big events, reunions or free courses? Make sure to sign up for the (biannual) newsletter. Please register here.
  • In LinkedIn we have a corporate LinkedIn group for all alumni of BUas, NHTV, VAT and NWIT. It is called Alumni – Breda University of Applied Sciences
  • We have created several alumni groups in LinkedIn; one for each of the eight study domains (Tourism, Leisure & Events, Logistics, Built Environment, Media, Games, Hotel, and Facility). Here domain related information is shared (jobs, research results, events related to the field of study). All the groups have the same name, just the domain name is different, e.g. Tourism Alumni – Breda University of Applied Sciences or Logistics Alumni – Breda University of Applied Sciences.
  • Facebook alumni group: here we share the more fun memories of our student days.
