More Sustainable Fisheries

This project addresses ecosystem degradation and anthropogenic impact that cause fisheries to be unsustainably exploited in several European seas. EcoScope promotes efficient, holistic, sustainable, ecocentric fisheries management that will help toward restoring fisheries’ sustainability and ensure a balance between food security and healthy seas.

The professorship of Serious Games, Innovation and Society plays an important part in the maritime spatial planning simulations. The research team will re-use and extend the technologies and experiences of the Maritime Spatial Planning (MSP) Challenge Simulation Platform. MSP Challenge has been designed to help decision-makers, stakeholders and students understand and manage the maritime (blue) economy and marine environment. It integrates best available geo, maritime and marine data with simulation models for ecology, shipping and energy production.
