A balanced mix

Our campus is a balanced mix of everything. It combines history with the latest technology. It is a place that inspires and energises, but also a place to relax. A community where you feel safe and comfortable, and where you meet people from all over the world.

Our campus has been developed through a vision of openness, sustainability and diversity, but also a unique individual identity. This is reflected in the campus buildings and landscape. Everything is designed to facilitate and encourage encounters, interaction, cooperation, and creativity. But most importantly, it is about the well-being and sense of safety of everyone who is part of our community.

Connect on campus

Learning and working together

On campus, you connect with others – not just in lecture halls or at your desk, but also in places like the Lighthouse or the Grand Café. Having everything on one campus makes collaboration easy, even with students and lecturers from other degree programmes. This fosters a sense of community and provides countless opportunities to learn from each other.

Time to relax

So you can carry on with renewed energy and a positive mindset. The convent, which we have renamed Horizon Building, houses the Library and several silent areas. You will also find in-school training company Sibelicious Restaurant and the Food Courts here. Throughout the campus, you can grab a bite to eat or find a quiet place to work or relax.

A bit of fun!

Whether you want to kick a ball around, play the piano, or enjoy a game of chess – our campus has plenty of recreational facilities for both students and staff. There is also a vegetable garden, a radio studio, and a music room. Don’t forget to check out The HIVE, our new esports and gaming hub. Lots of fun spaces to connect with others!

Space for creativity

There are project rooms, labs, and studios. Let the experiments begin! Failing forward, as we always say. But of course we will help you, for example with BUas Startup Support. There is an Innovation Square on campus for enterprising graduates and start-ups. And in our Ocean Building you will find the XR Stage. Students from a range of programmes create amazing virtual productions here.

Working together

In our international community, we seek each other out, take each other up on ideas, and inspire and motivate each other to achieve new things together.

Learning is not something you do alone. That is why we have adopted the teaching model of the learning community. In our learning communities, students, lecturers and professionals from the industry work together to solve complex societal issues. These are real-life projects and there is plenty of time for exploring the subject matter in detail, as well as for guidance and feedback.

In these learning communities, our students are at the heart of the ever-evolving professional landscape. In this way, they learn to adapt to change and make the right connections, including with other disciplines. They develop the skills to create meaningful experiences, enabling them to make innovative and sustainable contributions to the advancement of their field.

Social safety

We strive to create an organisation where respect is central, and where everyone feels safe and comfortable. Both staff and students. An environment which facilitates studying and working in a pleasant and productive manner. Therefore we have adopted a zero-tolerance approach to unwanted behaviour.
